🧶 Daily Crochet Squares – Day 28

Day 28 is here, and I’m diving into the Mitred Granny Square by Cozamundo—part of their beautifully textured Cozamundo Sampler Blanket.
I’ve been stumbling onto some amazing blanket projects lately—tempting enough that I’m wondering if I need to start a second life where I just crochet all day (and the laundry folds itself). This one’s got that perfect balance of familiar meets funky, with the mitered layout putting a geometric spin on the classic granny motif.
📐 A Modern Take on the Granny Square
This particular square starts off traditional, but that mitered look adds an eye-catching shift in direction. It was quick to work up and refreshingly different from the standard center-out square. Definitely adding this to my “make again” list!
Heads-up for beginners: This pattern is written in UK terms. That means when it says “double crochet,” it’s really a “single crochet” if you’re used to US patterns. Always double-check your terminology before diving in—it can save a frogging session later. 🐸

I love how clean the edges turned out, and I can already see this working well in a neutral-toned throw or paired with bright pops of color for a statement piece.
✅ Double Check Your Ends
I say it every time, but it’s worth repeating—double check your ends before tossing it in the “done” pile. Those little tails like to hide when you're not looking.
