🌸 Daily Crochet Squares – Day 27
.png)
Today’s square is a modified version of the Grape Hyacinth square by Anna Nilsson of Anna Virkpanna.
Although I’ve stepped away from my original scrap blanket plans, I’m still enjoying making individual squares as mini creative breaks. Some are pulled from CALs, others from blanket patterns I may never finish—but they’re all pretty and fun to make, so they’re definitely not going to waste!
🧵 Grape Hyacinth Square (Kinda)
This morning I dove headfirst into this pattern without really checking the final size. As a result, I ended up stopping after round 8 of the full 14-round pattern—and honestly, I love the smaller version.
It’s a tidy, textured square that fits beautifully into most modular blanket layouts or mix-and-match projects. And let’s be real… sometimes “close enough” is exactly what your WIP pile needs.

If you like floral-inspired texture and a little bit of whimsy, this square is worth exploring. Whether you finish all 14 rounds or stop at a neat 8 like I did, it’s a lovely way to add variety to your crochet square stash.
✅ Double Check Your Ends
I always try to weave in my ends as I go, but sometimes… well… let’s just say they sneak up on you. Give your square a once-over before calling it done!
