🧶 Daily Crochet Squares – Day 17

Crochet Square Day 17 Header Image

🎉 We’re at Day 17! This square was originally part of my 2023 “365 Crochet Squares” challenge on annmalonesulsar.com — now revamped for the Laughing Yarns blog. I’ve updated the layout, added some sparkly bits, and made it easier to follow. ✨

At the time, I was amazed I kept up as well as I did. There were only a few days I fell behind, and I always managed to catch up. That felt like a win in itself! 🙌

🧵 What Is This Stitch?

Today’s square is another from the Last Dance on the Beach CAL. It’s a cable-inspired design from the fabulous Dedri Uys of Look At What I Made fame.

Did I follow it perfectly? Ehhhh... let’s just say it’s got character. 😅 I might tweak the pattern a bit more when I make multiples for the final blanket layout.

Since I’m using worsted weight yarn instead of DK, these squares are turning out quite a bit bigger. My plan? Fewer rows and columns than the original layout. Cozy but not colossal.

🪡 Double Check Your Ends

I always try to weave in ends as I go, but let’s be real — some sneak past. Now’s your moment to track down and tame any escapee yarn tails.

💬 Did You Crochet This?

Tag me if you're crocheting along — I’d love to see your version of this square! Post on TikTok or Instagram and use the hashtag #AnnsDailyCrochetSquares.
