🧶 Starting My New Phoenix Blanket (Again!)

What do you do when you’re between projects, surrounded by leftover yarn, and feeling that familiar itch to start something big and bold? You dive headfirst into another Phoenix blanket, of course.

This will be my third Phoenix — because apparently, I’m now the type of crocheter who keeps circling back to the firebird. 🔥🧵

This time, I’m using the yarn I had left over from my Riverbed blanket, and honestly? The colors are working so well with the texture and structure of this pattern. I didn’t overthink it — I just grabbed what I had and started stitching.

🔁 Back at It — Day 1 Progress

I kicked things off with a classic crochet flurry. On day one alone, I finished the first 18 rounds (out of 108 total). That’s… a lot. Especially considering I also wove in the ends and clipped the first 10 rounds before calling it a night.

Honestly, there’s something super satisfying about weaving ends in early instead of letting them pile up like a yarny monster under the bed.

🧩 Day 2 Vibes: Can I Finish This in a Week?

By the start of day two, I already had a decent chunk of the blanket done and started wondering — could I actually finish this entire Phoenix in a week?

Spoiler: I probably won’t. But the motivation? It's strong. And I’m leaning into the process more than the deadline.

✨ Why I Keep Coming Back to the Phoenix

Every time I start this pattern, I find something new to appreciate. The rhythm, the texture, the story it tells round by round — it’s like crocheting a spell. And somehow, even though I’ve made it twice before, it still feels fresh.

This version may not end up being a full-sized blanket. Or maybe it will. Who knows! I’m just going where the yarn leads me.

💬 Have you ever remade a pattern just because it felt right?
Tell me in the comments! And if you want to follow along as this Phoenix takes shape, keep an eye on my TikTok or sign up for the Laughing Yarns email list for cozy updates straight to your inbox (no spam, just yarn).

Back at it again with another Phoenix blanket, because apparently I don’t know how to not start ambitious projects with leftover yarn and wild confidence. 🧶💥
